You Matter

You Matter

In today?s day and age, it?s easy to get caught up in the world?s standards and unrealistic expectations set upon us. Watching our friend?s seemingly perfect lives on social media can feel discouraging. If we?re not careful, all of a sudden we may find ourselves in the comparison game and are bound to end up believing thoughts and judgements about ourselves that simply aren?t true.

  • Not good enough
  • Insignificant
  • Unnoticeable
  • Lost in the crowd
  • Parenting gone wrong
  • Failing at a relationship

The enemy of our soul loves to encourage those negative thoughts, and will do anything possible to steal, kill and destroy. He prowls the earth, lurking and waiting for the next opportunity to pounce. Once we engrain the word of God into our hearts, the easier it becomes to recognize the voice of the liar and deflect his assaults with the Word of truth.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. ? 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV

We are called to take control of our thought life. If we picture soldiers today, we certainly wouldn?t expect them to go into battle without their weapons of protection. The same thing can be said for us. We are in a spiritual battle and must be prepared to protect the life God has planned for us! Pray, read, write and recite the word of God. His word is powerful and true; a living, breathing guide for our lives. Let His goodness seep into your soul. Stand strong and tall on His promises, and boldly claim you are a valuable child of God!

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father?s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don?t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. ? Matthew 10:29-31 NIV

You matter. Married? You matter. Single? You matter. Divorced? You matter. Old, young, tall, short. No matter who you are, or where you are in your life; at this exact moment, you matter. God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. He wants you to know and believe that, my friend.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother?s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. ? Psalm 139: 13-14 NIV
